Thanks Guys. The buck was shot with my Exomax and 100 grain Thunderheads. He ran about 100 yards into a really bad swamp with alot of water. At one point I was in 3 feet deep water. I had no blood trail so I did a grid search. I felt pretty sure that I would not recover the buck, but I refused to give up. When I spotted those horns poking out of the water I believe I was the happiest hunter in the world. He was a 8 pointer with a 18 inch spread dressed out at 220lbs. I feel very lucky to have recovered this deer. During field dressing I learned that I only hit one lung and center punched the liver. From the shot to the recovery it was 3 hours, he traveled approximately 100 yards. Moral of the story never give up!!

I agree . . .a good diet of water chestnuts can grow some large racks.catcher wrote:Sweet pics. Very nice buck you got there.
