Wow, the Vixen Deluxe is Back!

Post by marmot »

I am glad to see that the Vixen Deluxe has been reincarnated as the Vixen II. I always regretted selling my Vixen Deluxe. The Vixen is the Beeman R7 (a.k.a. Weihrauch HW30S) of the Excalibur line. It is a crossbow that one can shoot accurately for hours without fatigue.

There is definitely a place for a bow of that sort in anyone's lineup! :D

Love my Vixen! That deerhide brown disappears in the woods just as well as camo.

When I'm in the woods, I want as stripped down of a version crossbow I can get. In other words nothing on the bow that doesn't have to be there, period. Wheels and cables would make me crazy or crazier!

This pays off when hoisting my bow in and out of treestands and while walking through thick brush. Accessories that attach to the bow or string are going to be in the way. It's a real pleasure when they're just plain not there.

Another nice thing about the Vixen is its durability.

In my opinion, with a dacron flemish string you could cock and dryfire a Vixen 24/7 without incident. It's easier on limbs, strings, servings, targets and so on and so forth.

There's much to be said about the lowly Excalibur Vixen! :D
sounds like you have had a vixen or two in your day

I have an original Vixen delux , i bought from a forum member on here it is in mint shape , i acually bought it for my wife to shoot she loves it , i shoot the Exocet 175 . i was looking at pics of the new Vixen II and it looks to have a thicker front stock than the brown Vixen & Vixen delux , i acually like the thiner front stock of the Vixen.

The "fat" forearm occupies more of your hand making it more difficult for your fingers to go above the rail.

i had to change the stock on my dads exocet 165 for that same reason after a few thumb smackers
