While I'm going planning to give one a dirt nap with my new shotgun, if that goes well I'm going after my 2nd bird with my exomag  . Our season starts tomorrow so let's get it going. Any one care to volunteer as "Huntmaster" :D
God Bless !!!!!!!!!

How about this as a basis to start? Please add suggestions/likes/dislikes. Together we can get a framework set.

Entry requirements:
You gotta have pics of the bird! Take as many as you need to to make sure you have what is needed for entry. At a minimum we need:

1-A picture of you, the bird, your weapon of choice and a piece of paper with a date on it. They all have to be in the same picture and the date needs to be legible. Ideally the piece of paper should include your screen name, date, and score of the bird, but we will also accept anything that proves the bird was taken this year - current newspaper, magazine, tag, new piece of gear that was just released - anything that can help us be sure it's this year's kill.

2-A picture of the beard (still attached to the bird) and tape measure showing the length. Show entire length of beard and tape measure, including the tip.

3-A picture of each spur and tape measure showing the length. Spurs must still be attached to the leg.

Scoring:
Scores will be determined by spur length x 10 + beard length x 2.

For instance:
Beard is 8.5" - 8.5 x 2 = 17 pts.
Spurs 1" & 1-1/8" - 2.125 x 10 = 21.25 pts.
17 + 21.25 = 38.25 pts. total

Members have 1 week from the day an entry is submitted to dispute the entry. PM the huntmaster with your dispute.

Only 1 bird may be entered per contestant. Some states only permit one bird so this equals the playing field.

Not sure if we want to run this as individuals or as teams? Also how about weapon brackets (bow, shotgun, muzzleloader) and age brackets (adults and kids under 16)? If teams, a tiebreaker would be easier. We could add the scores together and if there is a tie, we will match the teams' top bird, second bird, until we have a higher score for one team.

Let me know what you think about these as rules. This should be fun!
