Mostly chores today , but did squeeze out for a few pictures

Post by R.J. »

Between chores today , I spent some time looking for that lost dog I mentioned awhile ago .... his owner called today ... there was a confirmed sighting along Twsp Rd # 9 this morning ... ( he has been out for 6 weeks now ! )

I saw the dog along the bushline at my neighbor's farm , but when I tried to get close to him he bolted into the bush :( ....

I stopped and snapped a couple frames of a nesting goose at my neighbors pond , on my way out ...

Later in the morning , I saw a shaggy cat hunting the grass flats along the river ...

Image

Walking the swamp edge , I got a few frames of another nesting goose ... mom stays low on the nest ...

Image

Image

Father keeps an eye on me from behind some cover close by ...

Image

Along the river a couple of mallards paddle by ...

Image

They walked up the bank and took off as I tried to get close ...

Image

Image

I put a turkey vulture off a road kill .... he settled into the field ... I got one quick frame of him an the ground before he flew off ..

Later , I met up with the owners of the missing dog ... they hadn't had any luck since the morning sighting ...

I did one more bushlot search , and headed home to finish some chores ...

Later in the day , as the sun was dropping ... I had a challenging focus on a Red winged blackbird as the sun sagged behind the bush in the background ... made some cool colors in the lens ..

The last thing that caught my eye was a silhouetted farm to the West of my place , as the sun dropped off behind the horizon ..

I think the second from last is your best yet. Very nice composition. focal length, and colour. Keep them coming RJ.

Hopefully Sparky will be home soon!

Sparky is still out there? We are heading to Chesney for a walk today, maybe I'll get lucky. Part of me thinks that dog really does not want to go home.
