after an hour of cooking ..the venison roast was done..took that off the spit and cooked the turkey for about a another hour..
if you notice the wires in the set up..they were thermometers used to keep the temps of the 3 different cuts of meat..
heres the venison roast done to med rare...

I am a little curious regarding galvanized garbage cans.
Is it not possible for zinc to permeate the meat being cooked if using a galvanized can. I only ask this as I am familiar with the galvanizing process.
Do you go through several burns with the can to purge off the zinc prior to actually cooking food?

Mike......the inside of the can had a tiger torch put to it it to burn out the zinc..as another safe guard,i made the can a fire pit for a bit ..
