Christmas came early today

Post by theoldarcher »

It only took two months but I finally got my new cheek piece for my Phoenix. I ordered it from Bow Hunters Super Store on March 2nd and it arrived today. I have to say though it was worth the wait. I have to drill and tap the stock but I will have pictures after installation. It made a BIG difference in the feel of the stock welded against my face.

Archer - Why did you have to drill and tap your stock. I thought they snapped onto the stock and used a small screw.

While it does snap in place on the stock, it anchors by a small 10/24 screw on top of the stock. My Phoenix stock was a new model but it had not been drilled and tapped at the factory previously to my buying it so I had to drill a small hole and tap it for the cheek piece to be anchored.

Looks like a piece of pipe insulation - which is what many use for a cheek piece.

That picture is an old one of my Phoenix. I did have pipe insulation on the stock in that picture. I haven't had a chance to get a new picture up yet of the cheek piece but I will shortly.
