Compact binocs review
Compact binocs review
Wanted a compact binocular for crossbow deer hunting; tired of hauling 2 lb binocs around. After checking out a bunch I settled on the Pentex DCF LV, in 9x28. Just 11 oz of pure binoc joy. Great optical quality, good controls and ergonomics for less than $200. There is no Z or L in it's name but I'm impressed. Everyone that purchased them rated them 5 out of 5. I that's what sold me.

Bob, is that .com on the pic the website (I'll probably find out before you reply ... LOLbstout wrote:I use a very inexpensive monocular. It fits in an outside pocket on my backpack and doesn't take up any room or weigh anything worth mentioning.

I can't use binoculars very easily because of my glasses ... never could. Maybe they make extended relief binocs, but regular ones just don't do it for me unless I take my glasses off, or I'm wearing contacts. In fact, here in the house, I use an old riflescope as a monocular of sorts.
Does your monocular require that it be plastered right up against your eye?

In fact the Pentex has extended relief and the eye pieces screw up to three different positions for best fit. My wife tried them with eye pieces turned down, worked great with her glasses.e

im using the 10x25's and love them.. I also use the bino system so they are strapped to my chest and ready for use. I actaully cant tell I have them on. I stayed away from the bigger monarchs for that reasonG Money wrote:That sounds better than Nikon Monarchs.
Better price, too. I paid $259 for my Nikons last year.
Enjoy!
the optics are awesome as far as detail and colors look through them..
I had the same problem with binoculars. I'd get *urpy* looking through them. I ended up buying the Leupold Wind River Cascade binoculars. 10x24. They are small and adjust for glasses. I wore glasses at the time. I also use the bino system. These were one of the best investments I ever made. Opticsplanet had the best price at the time.

I'm glad you too are happy with your purchase, Ischa. I use mine largely to check out hard to see through cover when in the stand. Have spotted deer several times before they could see me. Optics Planet is good but check out Binoculars.com too. $40. less and free shipping to. Ordered Friday, IMH on Monday.
