Killed in Indiana on Saturday, a potential new state record, I'm told:

25 lbs., 4 beards over 9" ... a real monster turk.

Woody Williams runs the site where this big 'un was first posted ... he may well have some info to add.

Just looks like a freak of nature . . .they keep records for that? Record for number of beards or total length? Or the amount of super glue it took to add them on? LOL.

Yes, I think there is a record category for atypical birds.

I don't know what the standards are.

I prefer to use Gorilla Glue and horse hair, myself.

Yes, a member of my website forum has probably killed a new Indiana A-Typical state record wild turkey.

The present Indiana record is 136.9200

His turkey had 5 beards for a total of 48 inches of beard. Spurs were - 1.562 each. The bird weighed 25 lb.. That places it about 152.24 in NWTF scoring.

It should be in the top 40 in the nation.

I'm afraid if I had killed it I would be out some bucks to have it mounted.. and I don't have any turkeys mounted..
