I would have to say that the guys that I know are all good hunters. The vastness of our terrain makes us aware of everything...most of us can assess the best place to be in a quick glance of the area. I am not saying that canadians are better hunters than our american friends, but I will state that by being able to hunt deer, moose, grouse, bear sure does hone the skills that can be transferred to turkey hunting. For the most part, our woods are not polluted with deer/moose etc...so we learn to work real hard and then we learn to be efficient. When I am hunting deer, I may only see one for the whole week, so you have to be sure not to mess it up...quiet/still/patience.

Do the math ... there are more Canadians posting on this forum than Americans! :P

Also, some of us don't hunt turkeys or haven't been ... can't kill 'em if you don't go.

We have taken four out at the farm and one here in the neighborhood. (I posted the pic of that one.)

I have been semi-guiding and doing all the calling so I have not had a chance to pull the trigger yet on one for myself. Doc has killed two and so has Shrader so they are finished. I still need to get Becker one more and then I can start hunting on my own.

No! Contrary to the skill and success of folks like Droptine and RJ, it's not that easy north of the border
