trigger safety lock when cocking ?

I haven't been to this forum in a long time - just checked and it is still great.
I searched but could not find an answer.

When cocking (exocet 200) should the trigger safety lock automatically engage ?

I thought it did before - but it doesn't now.

as far as i know the exocet 200 is the manual safety, the exocet 165 and the older wolverenes i think were the only bows to have it

Trigger has to be on FIRE to cock the bow, has to be put on SAFE manually - and IMMEDIATELY, I might add - unless of course you wan to belong to the Dryfire Club

Thanks all for the prompt answers.

Recently did a little target shooting and when my friend asked why the safety does not automatically engage when he cocked it I drew a blank.

I'm glad spring is here and more frequent shooting so I won't have to ask such questions.

he is probably more familiar with hortons or some other brand with an auto safety

I'd just get in the habit of checking the safety every time you cock the bow as if it were manual. My routine now is: Cock the bow, engage safety, pick it up, load it. No exceptions. Works
