Octobers headgear has started ..

Post by Sandman »

While I was out the other morning I hear some noise in the corn field behind me and caught this fella trying to do a sneak-by:

Is it me or does it look like this fella had a tough winter?

Cheers,

He has a pretty good headgear start for a tough winter. Our deer look scruffy this time of year shedding that winter coat to put on their pretty red one!

I noticed the deer showing up at my place were a little heavier this year then last. Man last year they were so skinny after that winter even my wife was all for feeding them. This year they did not seem so bad to me. That buck looks like he is going to have a nice thick base on him. sweet pic. :)

He's in better shape than some deer in our province. At least in your area there are lots of agricultural feed. Some areas were hit pretty hard by back to back years of extreme cold and deep snow / wolves. Some areas not as bad. Either way, I think over all the deer did come through in fair shape. I see good numbers on my way to work in the mornings.
