Thanks Ischa, I finally signed on after reading many of the threads on this site. Sounds like a bunch of great people here. Just purchased a 2009 Exomax and I'm enjoying shooting it. Unbelievably accurate and fast as well. Installed my STS as suggested by Boo and others. Purchased a piece of 3/8" aluminum rod from Home Depot ($6.00) and cut two pieces about 1/4" shorter than the rod sent with the STS. I have the string just touching the bumpers now and it seems to be working well. I have learned a lot from the people here and I'm sure I will continue to so. Thanks.lscha wrote:Hi Michihunter! Re: STS stoppers
Another option is to purchase stoppers through
Dan Horton at Meanv Archery: www.meanvarchery.com
BTW I got a thousand shots out of my first set of EDS stoppers on my phoenix-- with a little doctoring with marine goop to patch a split and pad the front.
An employee at my work place is over a thousand shots with his vortex without any damage that I can see. His rods were cut back from the start; Also it is good to rotate the stoppers every 25 or 30 shots.
In the past I have asked on threads like this how many shots people got
out of their stoppers, but never got a sense of the upper limit for the
EDS stoppers. It will differ I presume with the different draw weight bows.
