SAY "HELLO" - SPAM BOT?

Post by Grizzly Adam »

I just tried to post a reply to another thread, and a page came up that said I needed to type "Hello" in the entry box to prove I was a human and not a "SPAM BOT" ... whatever that is! :? :!: :?:

When I entered "HELLO", my reply posted! :!: :?:

WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? :?: :?: :?: :?:

Anyone else had this experience?

If anyone can explain, I'd appreciate it.

It's not like I infrequently post, or anything! :?

And believe me ... as those who know me well can attest ... Ol' Grizz is all too human! :P

Just got grilled several times, answered "Hello" then got asked if I was human, lol. Don't get cute like I did [homosapien], the thing has no sense of humor and hung me up a spell.

I just logged in again and it didn't reoccur. Perhaps once we've said Hello we're considered forever non-bot?

Sorry guys, thats our new spam program. When new users sign up now they have to answer a question to register, this will allow them to register quicker, get rid of the pesky "spam bots" and reduce my workload. Exisiting users will only have to do this once.

Nothing to be sorry about, Peter! :D

We're all for reducing your workload, and I assume this also protects us, right?

PS: I knew that program wasn't from the South, because it asked me to say "Hello" instead of "Hey"! :P
