again with thermacells
I have HEARD that they may be discontinuing thermacells.(ontario)Anyone know if there is any truth to this? something about them actually being a pesticide, and pesticides are now banned. dont know what to think about this "info", I am just glad I bought one 2 weeks ago (and I know how to refill the pads)
I guess if this is true than citronella would be on the hit list too

Yeah, Its thanks to fogducker for posting that information a week or more ago. Go to the pet store and get pyrethin dip. soak the pads in that.NewGuy wrote:now, about this pad refilling. Can you share?
I have not tried this yet, so I do not know how well it works.

that's true if they did ban them they would have to ban stuff like raid and deep woods muskol too, wouldn't they?one shot scott wrote:I dont know what to think about this Mike, seems like a bit of a stretch. There is soo many mild pesticides that I dont know if they could ban them all. All the paranoia would drive up sales though

Why is it that people form long ago have a better understanding of politics than most of us todayGrizzly Adam wrote:All of this sounds like regulation gone to seed to me!

You can always buy them from a QC guy (remember the counterfeit marguerine).

Old Indian saying, if a leaf falls from a tree in the woods the turkey will see it, the deer will hear it, the bear will smell it, the moose will not eat it, but be on the look-out for LeGrand.
This pesticide ban is foolishness .
I just checked out the round up at Canadian tire 5 liters ( premixed ) in a
little spray container $ 29.00 guaranteed analysis is 7 grams/ litre of
gyphosate. The concentrate I use on the farm has 540 grams / liter .
My cost is about $ 15.00 / liter .
540 gram / 7 grams liter = 77.14 liters of diluted solution .
77 liters / 5 liters per jug = 15 jugs of diluted Roundup
$ 29.00 ( cost per jug ) X 15 jugs (yield per liter of concentrate ) =
$435.00 .
That is some very expensive water .

It wasn't that long ago Ontario had Deet products pulled from the shelf, and quickly afterwords they were recomending using it for West Nile protection.
I doubt the Thermacell is going anywhere.
I used to use gramoxone on places where I didn't want grass.
