Welcome to the forum.
Both are great bows. Need to ask your self what you plan to hunt with the bow and what bow fits you the best, and how far you want to look for the arrow after it passes through the deer .

Welcome. Can't go wrong with either. I shoot both Vortex and Phoenix. Generally pick up the Phoenix to practice because it's a bit easier to cock. But love the thumbhole stock on the Vortex and flatter trajectory. Both will lay then into less than 4" at 50 yards if I do my part. Use both for hunting
(By the way, don't overlook the Ibex (thumbhole stock version of Phoenix) one very cool looking bow.) If you have any trouble cocking a bow and don't want to use mechanical cocker then a lighter pulling bow may be a consideration, otherwise I'd opt for just a bit more speed.
PS I shoot three bows. If could keep just one? Vortex.

WELCOME wildman!!Image

I don't think you could go wrong with either one. My decision was based mostly on fit and comfort with the stock and settled on the Ibex, which is basically the Phoenix with the thumbhole. I keep checking out the different bows when I go into the sport shops and none of them feel as good as my Ibex to me. So I made the right decision. :)

Welcome to the forum wildman. The best thing you could do is go to your archery dealer and ask if you could try out a few. You may find out that you like a different model than the two you mentioned. You really can't go wrong with any Excalibur crossbow. I have the vortex and love it. I really like the thumbhole stock, as do so many on this forum.

Welcome to the forum!!!!!!!!!!!
Either bow will be great for hunting, it's just a matter of making the decision of which one you like best.
