why wait for the last day

Post by munch »

with 1 hour and 40 min. left in our season i shot a jake most years i shoot big ones but this year i took a jake because
I'M OLD AND BIG ONES ARE TOO MUCH TO CARRY OUT OF THE BUSH
LITTLE ONES TASTE BETTER
BIG ONES WON'T FIT IN OUR OVEN
IT'S HARDER SHOOTING AT SUCH A SMALL TARGET
NEED TO LEAVE SOME BIG ONES FOR THE OTHER GUYS
AND WITH 100 MIN. LEFT HE WAS DUMB TO FALL FOR THE OLD CHEE YUK CHEE YUK AND TROTTED OVER FOR A LOOK AT PRETTY BOY
all in all it was a good year i helped my son take his first bird and my daughter and sister get their first also (they both shot the same bird. long story) i did not see as many this year and don't know what is up with that but can't wait for next year .good luck to everyone still hunting other areas
the jake had a 3" beard was 14lbs and had 1/4" nubs

Munch,

CONGRATS!!! No need to give an explaination for shooting a jake, they sure taste better than TAG soup.
