Bio-diesel
Bio-diesel
I thought is best just to start a new thread. Mike P. asked if I use a centrifuge for separation of my bio-diesel. The answer is no I am on a tight budget I have a small 40 gal. appleseed processor and have had great success with really really bad oil. I use what is called a 80/20 method to separate my glycerin, water wash and then bubble dry. I have had my diesel tested and always passed ASTM standard and my cloud point is also low for a bio diesel standard. I am able to run B50 all winter long without a problem. It has taken a long time and allot of failed batches to get to where I am at today. It has been frustrating but allot of fun. I also saw the picture of the still grizz posted I think that is really cool. once I finish building our house I would love to build a still. To distill ethanol of course to help in the process of bio diesel. I would never use to to distill spirits, LOL.
