To be 7 again..
I remember my first bow, a fiberglass unit with 3 arrows, I was pretty proud of it, but it wasn't the most useful toy for a 7 year old living in the suburbs of Detroit, not exactly a lot of places to shoot it, and very limited supervision.
My first arrow went straight in to the air, the first couple seconds were exciting watching it climb towards the sky, the seeing the inevitable return path to the ground was a whole new sense of excitement, I hid under Dads car.
The arrow came to rest in the vinyl top of our neighbours Chrysler Imperial, bow didn't last long after that.
Today is my sons 7th birthday, he too got a new bow, it will reside in his room beside his rifles, he is significantly more advanced than I was at that age, heck, is is more of a man at 7 than I was through most of high school. This morning, surrounded by his unopened birthday presents he got up and went to his room returning with wrapped gifts he made for each of us for his birthday and said thanks for everything we have all done for him since his last birthday. It's a good day.
Here he is, in the rain, flinging arrows like a champ! A special thanks to josh1963 for providing the bow in record time!
Happy Birthday Hunter!

Yes, Happy Birthday!
I was about that age when my brother and I made some bows and arrows. Naturally they were not good enough for hunting but they sure made us feel like great Indians at the time. A cardboard box made a target for us but we couldn't shoot from very far back. Oh the memories...
