Deer contest(bag limits) everyone read

Post by crazyfarmer »

who can only take 1 buck and 1 doe? I thought I saw where some states only allow you 2 deer. I wanted to make sure since it would be fair for a 3 person team that could only take 6 deer compared to everyone elses 9

so if you cant fill the contest limit of 1 buck and 2 doe please post :D

I am not sure about State side but in Quebec you are only allowed 1 buck or Doe in archery and buck only in riffle. Some areas you can apply for a second tag but not all areas.

It has been 9 years since I left Quebec. But if memory serves me correct yes 1 deer only. If you tag a deer in Bow then you are done no tag for rifle. I still go back to hunt deer during rifle season and it is one tag only and only a buck tag. They have draws in some areas for an extra tag (doe tag) but not all.

One buck in Indiana (unless I get drawn for a park or military hunt then it is two or three bucks)

One buck in Kentucky..

Two bucks in Illinois..

Pretty well unlimited does.. I'll have 1 KY doe tag, 2 Illinois doe tags and as many as 4 doe tags in just my Indiana county. I could hop all over Indiana and kill 365 if I had places to hunt and did not run out of arrows or bullets. Lifetime license in Indiana so my tags are free now.... ;)

We get one tag, but can buy extras in certain areas. I usually buy one extra... and end up cooking it up in a soup.

only one for me, we get a buck tag with our licence and have to be drawn for a doe . if successful on the draw your back tag gets a doe validation which makes it good for a buck or a doe but still only one deer

re tags

Post by Algonquin »

Hi all, I do not require a deer tag , as long as I am hunting within the Algonquin First Nation territory, I have no limits on how many does or bucks I need to harvest. Will this pose a problem for me to be included in the contest :?:

3 buck or doe in archery with additional tags

The Massachusetts license comes with two buck tags only. If you want to take a doe you have to put in for a lottery and you may or maynot get one depending on the zone. I hunt out of state as well so it is no problem for me.
