Every late fall they come down here to visit for the winter, then leave in spring. They fly extremely high and can be heard gossiping as they go. Everybody just loves them. I hear they are good eating, but wouldn't want to explain myself.
Just an over informed newbie with a misinformation spreading disorder- and a Vortex
We were goose hunting last fall hear in south eastern Ontario and we had a pair of these come into the decoys. They circled us for at least ten minutes squacking up a storm before they finally landed about 50 yards to the closest decoy. Then after about 2 or 3 minutes on the ground they took off and we never saw them again. It was really neat to see.
In at least one area of Michigan some farmers have gotten permits to shoot because there are so many.
For many years there have been some in various areas but just recently came to our area. In the Upper Peninsula there are several areas where they are thick. Where we've seen the most are by Brevort.
