How far was your longest kill shot?

Post by spiwonka »

I was a little curious, but how far was your longest kill shot with your crossbow on say a deer, hog, bear or any other game animal? What is your setup??

30 yards in a drizzle with a 4 blade muzzy. 7 point buck went 25 yards, with a double lung hole.

I don't know if they count as game animals, but I've shot several grouse, the furthest was at 32 yards. I also shot a squirrel at 55 yards. They all didn't know what hit them, as they died on the spot.

Of course, I wouldn't recommend anyone else trying it, since I'm a "trained professional", and have the unfair advantage of using an Exomag, the most accurate crossbow ever made.

Ok, I'll be the first. Well it wasn't an actual wound, but on one occasion I didn't recover my game, a turkey.

What was the distance, you may wonder. Well it was a paltry 17 yards. :o

Luckily, I only managed to slice off some of its wing feathers. Of course, I didn't have my trusty Exomag at that time, and the arrow managed to hit a small reed of hay. :(

42 yards with a crossbow...

Aimed 40 dead center in the lungs and got a heart shot.

The buck lived 15 minutes with a hole through his heart..

15 yards with my old Exocet, this year my farthest available shot is only 17 yards, I like to hunt the thick stuff. I will be shooting my Exomax with Easton 2216 XX75 aluminum shafts and 125 grain wasp 3 blade sst fixed blade broadheads, which i think should do the Trick.

50 yards with my .303 British. Also shot a bear at fifteen feet with this gun. Deer, 10 yards, 30.06. I've taken five deer in the past five years with my Exocet. The furthest being 12-15 yards. The rest were under 10 yards. I like it when they are close, what can I say.
