I used it years ago. I cut the bottom out of a jar after nailing the lid to a tree. It attracts alright. Birds and squirrels too, so the deer didn't get much.

i know bears love it. one of the guys on my property used some to jumpstart his spin feeder. after the bear ate the peanut butter, it knocked over his feeder, ate a whole through it, then chowed down on the corn inside.

When I lived in northern Illinois it was illegal to bait whitetails.

We used to make peanut sandwiches and "accidentally" drop them from the tree stands. On a couple of occasions that we got checked the wildlife officer would give us that "oh yeah, I bet it just fell from your lunch pack look" but we never were cited for any violation.

I use peanut butter for bait in late season. I smear peanut butter on a stump and cover it with corn. They love it!

What a pain when you're looking & listening for deer.
Don't forget about the raccons and porcupines. They love it too and we have way too many of those. I once had 12 racoons on my trailcam all at the same time along with 2 porks.

Honestly, I've never heard of using peanut butter for deer, but after reading everyone's posts, I guess I'm going to try it this fall.

I know squirrels love it though. I used to be in nuisance wildlife control and we used quite a bit of it baiting our traps for squirrels, coons, and possums. BTW, critters really like Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream pies too.

YUMMMMMMMM!!! Peanut butter and chocolate.

Don't know about peanut butter, but my father-in-law keeps mentioning chocolate chip cookies. As a joke. But maybe????
