Time to start hitting the woods

Post by crazyfarmer »

finally went and scouted some bottoms this morning and actaully trimmed some spots for stands(thanks to cuddeback info). Nothing beats getting in early so the deer have PLENTY of time to get use to things. I usually start trimming the 1st week of august, but ive got about 28 stands to put up and its ALOT of work for one person.

I know around 10am it starts getting HOT and I hate the spider webs

anyone else starting to enter the woods anf hang stands?

Going tomorrow to do some trimming. I have a new rangefinder and I'll play with that a bit. You know, range some from my stands. Everything may change when and if I start getting some nice buck pics in August and September. I think its safe to say that I have at least one stand in a good place.

yikes.. sounds like you need a bushaxe :D

the hunting show is in 2 weeks here so after that its not long... Feels good to be in the woods, but I'd much rather be in the woods when its 40 outside :D

Getting ready to go out scouting in the next few mins.

Put the chairs in the bed of the Tundra.

Put the Leica's around my neck.

Put a six pack of Shiner Bock in the cooler.

This scouting business just gets harder every year!

I am a Texan. I just happen to have ended up in Ohio.

The bucks are bigger here!

You can take the boy out of Texas, but you can never take the Shiner out of his hands. :!: :!: :!:

Hook em Horns

p.s. I see in your sig that you actually admit to being advised by mr. shucks. You gained a lot of points in my book for that. Most would be embarrassed to admit to that fact!
