How much will the Limb Saver Ultra Quads limb Silencers slow down my Vortex?

get custom boo string and the sts (dampening system)....you will be amazed at the difference ....will take alot of the vibe out and quiet the bow somewhat ...made enough difference for me that i'm happy with the noise the bow makes now ....not silent but bearable ...there's always trade offs though ... a little slower ...

Welcome friend. :D
I dont have any silenceing stuff on my bow.
I do have a Boo string and NGSS (from NewGuy) for helping the shock, vibration and to protect my bow should I dry fire it.
The other ad on I have is the groundpounder top quiver mount. It puts the quiver on top and not the bottom.I like it much better that way.
Take a look in everyones signature and you will see what they use.

To quote Dan Miller "The deafest deer can still hear the quietest crossbow" so be careful about spending money for quieting gadgetry, remembering it's a placebo for you and not the deer.
He's got several of them, lol. The one I got was: "On a quiet day, a deaf man can hear the quietest crossbow made".

Another vote to ixnay the limb savers, they come off eventually, and if the shot was at a deer, the accuracy change is.....well enough you don't want it.

I'm hard of hearing, but the served on whiskers on my Boo and my STS are as good as it's gonna get w/ about 430 gr arrow.

If I gotta give up fps, I prefer to do it w/ heavier arrow weight cause I got a bear to stick here someday.

It depends where you put them. The further out on the limbs the bigger affect on speed. BTW, does not do much to reduce noise...I tried.

As Bill T recently posted:
Limb savers will reduce the noise a bit, but they also reduce velocity up to around 20 FPS. You'll NEVER make that crossbow quiet enough that a deer won't hear it, but you MIGHT make it slow enough that a deer can jump it. Leave the gizmos off your limbs and string and just have fun. Just my opinion though, and I was wrong once or twice!

NGSS is made by NewGuy on the forum here. Its much like an sts. I have both, They work good. I would recommend a ngss over a sts b/c its made by a fellow forum member, and the ngss is more adaptable to the excalibur. Most sts systems have to be modified it seems to mount properly against your string. I will see if I can get a pic of both systems here for ya. A pic is worth a thousand words

If you have any questions, check out newguys add in the trading section. He can answer any q's you may have.

I'm far, real far, from being a CB expert but my Vortex sounds pretty quite to me right out of the box, but of course I'm hard of hearing lol. From my vertical bow experiance (40 yrs) if you keep shots at 30 or less I think you'll fill the freezer.
