maybe a new hunter??

Post by Shotnbeer »

I've taken my daughter out shooting since she was 10. she likes shooting but never was interested in the hunting part. shes now 22 and shot my crossbow today for the first time. Hate to say it but I'm glad we shot a different target each time or I'd be buying bolts. She's a crack shot. Was surprised when she said she might try crossbow hunting this year. I'll gladly spend the money for another crossbow. It a dad daughter thing. :D

ShotNBEER i can understand that.My 5 yr old daughter already hunts with me.There is nothing in the world better than spending time in the woods with her.She already knows how to operate a grunt call properly and this past season was with me when we took a 400lb boar.As for the shooting part i swear i think it comes easier to women my wife can shoot a rifle.and pistol better than most men i know.Good luck to yall this upcoming season and enjoy every minute of it!

Im with Dutch on this one.I think this year i am going to bring my daughter turkey hunting.I think the gobbling just at daylight would excite her more than just waiting for a deer to show up for a shot!
If im not out shooting deer.

I'm afraid that I know just enough about computers to be dangerous.
I'll try and post a pic here.
This was my daughter's first deer, taken during a youth hunt in 2001. She gutted it with only a little instruction, and has been consistently taking deer since. She has enough sit in her to out hunt her male counterparts.

During the rebellious years, hunting seemed to be the only thing that kept us connected.

That's great!

Keeping a connection has become my #1 goal with my 13 & 15 year olds. We mainly stay connected with their tennis. Everybody needs something. My neighbor was by here the other day complaining about his daughter(also 15) not talking to him or his wife. Not a good thing.

For you guys with younger kids . . .the earlier you can share a common interest, the better.

Shotnbeer - it's awesome that you can connect all over again with your 22 yr old daughter with the xbow! Although my Dad didn't hunt much, I spent many wonderful days with him fishing and skiing - nothing beats quality father/daughter time! Hopefully she'll stick with it and maybe we'll see her posting her first deer photos here soon! :D
