Avatar help from the 'puter pros

Nothing I try results in an avatar. I've resized it, downloaded to my computer, posted directly from Photobucket, deleted (the non existing picture) and started over, all to no avatar. At first I got messages that the image must be in jpg, gif or png; since I downloaded to my computer it just says my profile has been undated..... but no picture results. I HATE giving up so any help is appreciated.

Hey Cossack, I'm in the same boat except for a message. I've tried to upload an avatar several times and it appears to accept....but no picture.

No offense Gary, but I believe what you are looking at is posting a picture in a post. We are looking to put a picture for an avatar. That is done in the profile. Following instructions there just does not work.

Tried uploading a pic from my computer and it DID NOT work.
I linked to an off-site avatar (photo bucket) and it worked fine.
I see it also requires your off-site avatar be under the size limits or it will not display the link.

i had to link mine offsite for it to work

Have tried off site as well as from computer. If off site I get message that image must be different format. If from my computer, it accept it but no image results. I've even tried posting a picture of the image taken from my screen. NADA. Spit!!!

Cleared cookies, refreshed entry process. Size of image is ok. NOTHING seems to make an image appear. Interesting thing is that I've got one going on 4 other sites. Suppose it's a border crossing thing?

I got mine to work but if there is anyone out there that can photo shop i would like my FJ avatar to be brick red like my truck...
