Don't worry Laura, you'll develop the necessary muscles in no time now! Make sure you toss your headback in the last couple of inches of cocking. Not only does it help to cock it but it looks good too! :D :D :D

Good going Laura. You might do now like I do. I can use the rope cocker sometimes, so I just use the crank when practicing and take the rope when I go hunting. So far, so good.
Keep smiling!

Laura, I suppose a cheer is in order. Hip-Hipperay. Or, with all this talk about "cocking", should I have said more appropriately Cock-a-Doodle-Do. After all when it comes to "cocking", just not anyone will do.

bstout wrote:Laura, another option would be to replace your swept riser with a straight one. I keep an extra straight riser myself for just such an occasion.

For instance I can put my straight riser on my Relayer Y25 in minutes. This converts it from 200# down to 175# without doing anything else with the exception of replacing the string (the straight riser takes a longer string than the swept riser).

I keep a smorgasbord of parts around for setting up whatever I want. I've been fortunate enough to find parts on the internet and from other forum members.

Nothing says you have to keep your Ibex at 175#. A straight riser would put it at around 162#. That could mean night & day too your lower back and you'd never notice any change in trajectory unless you paid very close attention.
I never heard of this. Sounds interesting.

I'm assuming you shorted the cocker rope so you pull the bowstring by hand up 6-8" to catch the second hook. Makes a big difference in length of cocking pull Lo.
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
Incurable tinkerer.

Actually, it is pulled up 4.25" to catch the second hook. You made me go check. I don't know if I could pull it up higher. I need a glove to do it so it doesn't hurt my little hand.
