There's probably a very large buck on the other side. The spike looks like he's ready to fight, but, if you notice the doe beside him saying "What are you crazy, that big buck is gonna kill you". "No problem the spike replies, I just want to make sure he knows I'm a buck!"

I noticed a mineral fountain in the background to the right of the spike buck atop the stump. I've used them with good success ( Backyard Wildlife) product. Are you using the Blaze or Glory mineral powder ?
