Team Ibex is on the score board

Post by rt2bowhunter »

I went out after work this morning. I got set up at 8:15 Around 9:00 I saw some deer cross the hollow to my left around 75yds away. It was 2 small does and a medium size doe. And one pretty nice 8 point. The buck feed about 40 yds in front of me then went on out the trail out of sight. But i did get some good practice ranging him and squeezing the trigger safety on. Doe only season this week.Back to the doe's They finely fed they way up the hill to with in 30yds. The first doe bedded down all i had was a head shot. the 2nd also bedded down with in 10 feet of me( Im on the ground) facing away from me. The last doe was making her way up on to the flat below me. I had all ready ranged 3 large logs at 20,25,30yds. After she feed for 10 min's or so i had my shot. She was between the 25 and 30yd spot. I shot the she bolted ran 40yds stopped. Looked back stumbled and fell down. The other 2 deer never even got up. I used a GT arrow 4"QS st brass insert and a 100gr. G5 Tekan. The head did its job. I hit her a little high behind the shoulder and exited the other shoulder. Thats the exit hole in the pic. There wasnt a lot of blood but it was a high hit. The lungs were history and the chest was full of blood.
This is my first deer with a XB. How do i enter her in the contest.

Looks perfect to me! Nice shot and good story.

Congrats on number 1! Many more to come, I'm sure.
