Photos & video from Oxford 3D shoot

Post by VixChix »

Was a beautiful day for a 3D shoot and the Oxford club really knows how to host a great shoot. This was our 2nd shoot there and we were impressed. They set out a really nice 40 target course, well groomed trails, fabulous lunches (today they served roast beef, mashed potatoes, beans and several salads!)

Kudos to the organizers for putting together another great shoot!

Here are some photos we took along the way:

Arriving at the club:

On Safari - a cool set-up for a lion shot:

And some video of walking up to retrieve the arrows:

Rob "twelved" this mosquito! The 12 ring on this is dime-sized, if even that.

We also had a robin-hood on that target:

Some video of shots on a baboon target. You can really tell how quiet that Scorpyd bow is when Rob shoots it:

The boyz posing with a 'coon:

Nice tight group, although not quite in the 12 ring:

Tim's trophy:

Sorry I did not make it out to see you but after going the last 5 days on 15 hours of sleep  I died all off Sunday.

When you reach this age you just cannot keep those hours anymore I am finding :?

Glad to hear it was a good shoot & hopefully next time I can make it out seeing as it is so far from home :P

Hey Stinky! When you come for a visit next month we'll take a little trip to the local range and walk the course together with your little girl.

It was a real great day. Oxford is probably one of my favourite courses. It's a lot of walking but there are some wonderful target presentations. The lion target looked so real out in that field. And the lunch's they serve at their shoots are second to none. Yesterday was a full roast beef dinner for only $6.00.
Congrats to Vix and xbowkidd on their 1st and 2nd place finishes. You both did some awesome shooting. The course had a possible 476 points and the point spread between 1st and second was only 4 with a 5 point spread between 2nd and 3rd. It was a close race. It was fun to watch Mo and Rob battle it out of the last 10 or so targets as they only had a 2 point spread between them. Both shot very well but Mo wouldn't give up the lead. Guys, I have to say it, the Excal beat the Scorpyd and the Middleton! (sorry Rob and Terry   :D ).
That's likely our last shoot for the year. There is one more in October but I'm not sure we'll make it. Had a heck of a good time shooting with 3D Team DryFire and the numerous other forum members who came out to some of the shoots. Hope next year we can get even more of us out! :D

Hey Team Dry-Fire(aka Stop Talking and Just Shoot). Gladn y'all had fun without me :( We had a great time camping . About 9 am I felt the urge to look for my xbow but realized it was still at Excal office after new limbs were installed by Doe Master. I forgot to let my neighbor know to pick it up. I also didn't think my wife would let me drive back home and then to the shoot. Besides, the scorpyd would have cried if I beat him 2 weeks in a row   Maybe next shoot Rob
