REDEEMED!!!!

Post by Sopchoppy »

After my over the back miss on Tuesday, I was back up the tree yesterday morning. No activity for 5 hours, until I started looking for something to eat and was rummaging thru my pack. I caught some movement to my left and saw 2 does and 2 fawns coming down the hill just as planned. They were moving quickly but not running. They stopped once to check out the area and started walking towards me about 25 yards out. I gave 'em the "stop here" noise and they did. I had picked out the larger of the 2 does, picked my spot and let 'er rip. She kicked up and started running slowly up the hill to my right. I watched as she slowed and piled up about 50 yards from me. I could see where she fell, but went to get my bolt and look for blood. Did'nt find much at all until I got within 20 yards of where she fell. The hit was a little high and back. Got both lungs. I have switched to Slick Trick 100 gr Magnums this year and this is the shortest recovery I have ever had. All is well with the world once again.

Congrats. Jerk smell acomin'. (Just made a batch to clear out last years' remnants). Those slicks work great, eh?
