Do it yourself-----get ya a quality knife set, butcher block, & just start cutting whole muscles off the bone, partially freeze, then slice into steaks-grind everything else-----mmmm mmm

Silver Maple here near Breslau does them from time to time. Does a very nice job too. I don't have the contact info though.

We do our own now. Much better results when it's off the bone instead of cut through the bone. You can't go wrong just cutting along the "seams" of the meat, wrapping it well, and freezing it. It's not hard.... even for a woman!

There is Gourmet Meats on 4262 Hwy6 between caledonia and Hamilton. Phone # 905-679-6821.

It can be hard to find a butcher to process wild game in Ontario. The govt requires all butchering of wild game be done in a seperate building away from "domestic meat" Once you find a good butcher, its like a long term relationship.

Do you have a garage? If so go to a grocery store where they cut their own meat and see if one of the butchers will come to your place to take care of your deer.A good butcher can have your deer done in about an hour. Give him/her $75.
