Father/Son double

Post by Rich »

Had one of the best hunts ever with my son today. It may be his only hunt this year because he deploys to Afghanistan in 2 weeks with the 2nd Marine Division. We didn't see any deer in the a.m. and since it was a mid day feed due to the full moon I suggested we hunt from 11 to 1, we did a quick set-up in a sawtooth oak flat and shot these 2 does within 30 seconds of each other at 12:55. It was his first ever bow kill, he was using my new Mathews Drenalin and drew blood before I could even use it. My doe puts Team VA on the board with an EXCAL doe.

Dad and son hunt and both getting a deer together, it don't get any better than that.

Me and my family would like to say "Thank You and God bless" to your son and all of our hero servicemen and women who fight for our freedoms on a daily basis.

Stay safe over there young man, and I know everyone on this site would love to see you and Dad's next pics on here after your deployment.
