First CB Kill - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Post by bkisel »

Hi Guys,

The Good :D : Got my first CB kill with my Exocet 200 that I got in August for my 65th BD.

The Bad :( : Thought I was shooting a bigger deer. Could very well be the the little lost skipper I passed on the day before.

The Ugly  : Deer must have spun just as I loosed the arrow because to my surprise the recovered deer showed that the arrow went in further back than where I aimed and actually exited the other side of the deer through the rump. BTW, shot for 30 yards, deer was @ more like 32 yards.

Commentary: I'm not so upset with the shot because I realize those things happen but it bothers me that I misjudged the size of the deer so badly. I'm thinking that maybe I just wanted to kill my first CB deer and blinded myself to everything else.

Take care...

bkisel,

Any deer with archery equipment I consider an accomplishment. If it makes you feel better, there was a 17 pounder (dressed) weighed in at our game check yesterday.

The good + the bad + the ugly = meat in the freezer. Contratulations.
