Snuffers or Slick Trick?

Post by j-cubed »

Like many of my fellow over 50 Michiganders I decided to buy a crossbow. Being 5'7" and after a ton of research on the web I went with a Vixen II. It looked to me like Excalibur was really the only brand to buy. I am shooting 2216/ XX75's. I have both 100g sick tricks and 125g snuffers which I shot with my Mathews killing both deer and elk. Which do you think will fly better with my Vixen? Do I need to add weight? Being new the the sport any help on what I need to have would be appreciated. I've have a scope, rings, mount, cocking rope, stringing aid, wax, sling and quiver. A case will be added later.

Try both and see what flys better for you.. I went from 100 Muzzys to 125 slick and the slicks were right on the money...

Since your arows seem to have low FOC (forward of center) ratio, I'd go with the 124 g head. But slicks are my favorite from all three bows I shoot.

Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!

The 125 grain snuffer flys like a dart out of my Exocet 200 with 2216 / or beman Thunderbolts .
