Are all Limbs created equal ?

Post by Missouri_Hunter »

I think I have read here somewhere that all new Excalibur models use the same limbs...is that correct...

Yes, the limbs are the same, the differance is in the length of the rail.

don't know about excalibur but in making a traditional longbow or recurce you can use the same length and laminations but very the draw weight by reducing or increasing the width and thickness of the limbs. I'm sure excalibur has this down to a science

All the limbs are the same, always have been with the camo models, and I believe the brown/black ones too. When the limbs are made they are sorted out and catergorized to insure they are paired with the most equal limb.
The variances in draw weight come from the length of the rail, the longer the rail the more the limbs are being forced back, increasing speed.

Thanks guys...I was going to be discussing crossbows with some friends of mine later this week....I wanted to have my facts straight....they want to get into crossbow hunting and I will do my best to convince them that Excalibur is the way to go...they will be shooting my Exocet of course, but I don't own anything else for them to compare it too... :D
