Stripping vanes on carbon arrows?

Post by Worriedman »

Having never dealt with carbon shafts before, I wonder if the old stripping tool I have for aluminum shafts will work on the carbon ones? I am concerned that I would "pit" the shaft using my old tool.

I have a cheap pocket knife that is always dull. work great for stripping vanes or feathers. something very sharp can nick carbon. also be sure and clean the shafts with acetone the wash with soap and water, I also srub them a little with a green scotch brite pad. never had an issue with the new vanes sticking
