Corned venison?

Post by B-Logger »

Has anyone on here ever corned venison?

An old gentleman was going to show me how to do it but unfortunately he passed away. However, I did recently receive a recipe for it and may try some this fall. Just wondering if anyone else has done it or eaten it.

Yes!

It's very good, and very salty ... keep a glass of water nearby!

Lots of recipes on the net. Most are similar.

Give it a try! :D

I make one every year. If you like corned beef you will love the venison. If you are planning to eat it right aftre the curing process you can reduce the salt.

Growing up in Nova Scotia, we had just about everything preserved in salt, fish, beef, moose, venison, you name it. It turns out great and makes for the main ingredient toa wonderful Atlantic Boiled Dinner.

Keep the liquid refreshments close at hand.
