Well bow season opened up yesterday and the 87 degree temps kept them bedded down. I am hunting tommorow with a cold front pushed in that will have the high around 65. My only concern is a north wind up to 15 mph during the day. Will this affect my hunt and what will be my best option for the hunts a stalk or a ladder stand on a plot? I am in my third year of deer hunting and I truly appreciate all the advice!!

That sounds like more fun than Six Flags. I'll run the idea by my kids . . .maybe I can get them interested in hunting now.planter wrote:Your wrong dick.. Fun is sitting in a Loc-On 20 feet up in a too thin tree in a strong wind swaying back and forth like you were on a ships mast. It's even better with widow makers falling from the tree around you.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

Same here.
I got an Ameristep Ground Blind (Bone Collector edition) this year. If they're calling for variable wind I'll go in well before dawn and hunt out of the GB to keep the scent down.
If the wind is steady I prefer tree stands or still hunting into the wind.

Grounf Blind is the way to go
I hunt from an Ameristep Penthouse blind. I shot a doe this year and last, with a 10 mph wind. The blind will keep your scent contained, and I see more deer than I ever did when I hunted out of a tree stand.Oh Yea,I stay dry in the rain too.
