scope adjustment

Been gone a long time . Been through the wringer. First had to have back surgery , almost back to normal after about a year , then ended up having to have shoulder surgery . Had 2 tears in rotor cuff and had to grind off end of a bone and do a little light sanding on another one . But , I'm finally back to shooting again.
Now to the problem.
Shot bow a few times the other day and all went well . Sights were off a bit so I decided to resight it today. Was hitting to the right so I did the adjustment. Went farther to the right ????? . Turned windage ethe way opposite of what is marked ( arrow is for left so I went that way ) .
Supposed to turn adjustment the direction you want arrow to go , Right ????
