I was out yesterday, no rubs or ground scrapes. I bumped a doe near my stand. Checked my trail cam and deer movement at night only. I feel that the rut hasn't started. Ray.

Yesterday I decided to take a peek at the OTHER side of a woodlot that I hunt. Unfortunately, no trees in this young oak dominated section of woods were suitable for any kind of tree stand. However, I could not believe the number of fresh scrapes I saw. In one spot I must have walked 50 yards and seen a dozen scrapes!

This IS the week to be hunting I think!

Where I hunt the crops are all down all around and there are hardly any tracks anymore, let alone fresh scrapes or rubs. Even the apple tree had just one set of tracks. Am hoping the winter wheat sprouts soon!

The warm weather has had no effect on deer activity here. I've seen 10 bucks in the last 2 days and a bunch of does!
Keep smiling!
