Post by deer jamie »

anyone else now. My dads buddies are hunting somewear ner Walkerton area in a big awamp they have shoot MULE DEER  :o hanging its a little over 300 lbs iam told they are cross breading more so whit tail are breeding the doe mule deer the are worried that they will not be able to reproduce but some have been tested and are 80% mule deer so this tells me that it was a creation from a hybred deer back to a standard to creat the 80% any way anyone else know about this area?? :? :D

Whitetail bucks will breed with mulie doe's not as common for mulie bucks to breed whitetail doe's There have been a few crossbreeds harvested around here. I remember reading a article about a study done but can't remember what mag it was in.

I suppose there might be captive mulies in Ontario and, by extension, mulies escaped from captivity. Otherwise, there are no mule deer in Ontario. Sorry, I can't believe there's a shred of truth to that story you've heard.

This deer was shot just East of Hanover (about 15 miles from Walkerton) & dressed was 327lbs

This is a legit picture as well because it is my deer :D

So yes there are some huge whitetails in Ontario.
