Question About Exocet

Post by Mountain Man »

Hi all,

My brother just purchased a used crossbow. He was told it was a two year old Exocet, 200lb pull, and it has a Max Zone scope.

It is not the Exocet 200 model, that is, the decal on the side of the crossbow only reads Exocet and not Exocet 200. It has the same tip style as the Exocet 200.

It seems to have a darker camo than his father-in-law's Exocet 200.

Any input as to whether this is actually a two year old 200lb pull or something older would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mountain Man

What makes an Exocet 200 lbs. is the riser. The riser on an Exocet 200 causes the limbs to angle forward beyond perpenticular(90 degrees) in relation to the rail, when the string is removed.

If the decal on the side of the rail doesn't say Exocet 200, then I'd be suspicious. It's probably an older Exocet. Even if it has the riser which gives it a 200 lb draw weight, someone must of mix & matched its parts with those of an older model (i.e. Exocet 175). Whatever the case, I seriously doubt that it's two years old.
