First Crossbow Deer

Post by Migabby »

Wednesday evening about 5:30pm I shot my 1st. deer with my Vixen a complete passthru both lungs and the top of the heart at 28 yard. In fact I had to tug at getting the arrow out of the ground. The deer ran about 35 yard and pilled up. I watched it go down.

What a great Xbow that Excalibur Vixen II is, it was almost easy. I gave up bowhunting 5 years ago because of health issues. Michigan passed the Xbow law this year and this 65 year old man is happy they did. He 's not a record book deer but he's my 1st. deer in many, many years.

We share the emotions at this age, it's getting tougher but that bow made it sweet.

Congrats on your first crossbow buck. I had not hunted archery for three years account of the difficulty practicing with the vertical bow.I started Crossbow hunting last year and have been lucky enough to kill bucks both years.Glad Pa. now made them legal so others can enjoy the Crossbow.
