Post by deer jamie »

for the past 10 days or so i havent seen nottin :( i dont know why i think the area i have been hunting needs a break but the sign there is increadible there ae atleast 25-40 scrapes withen 200 yards in every direction from my stands throught the bush. I have been watching 4 does all season but i havent even seen them!!

Well thismornin i took my climber stand in and set up in a different place then usual and low and behold a buck comes through 10 min before iam able to make a shoot right behind me 20 yards he was in full RUT :D walking like he was on a mission letting out a grunt evey 10 seconds i let him pass through when he got 75 yards away i grunted and gave a snort weeeez he never even broke pace!!!!!

i use a primos buck roar witch is aloud call and he payed no attention to me i cant believe it he acted like i wasent even there huh!! Wada ya do :? ial be back ther on tuesday mornin hopefuly i can get a shoot away. i did a bit of trimming so it opend a few good lanes . Iam really hoping this spot works out. i never got a good look at the rack it was a little to dark and threre were sticks in the way but he sure had a big body :D

I can relate.
My season started Sept 26 and I shot my first of the season on Wednsday evening.
I had only seen a couple deer the whole time.
I use the buck roar (when I call which is very little) also,it sounds good I guess, never heard a deer grunt for myself.

Good luck with the spot D.J.
Go get him :D

Same here in wmu 73, we had 5 does and 2 fawns that we seen every single night while archery season was on just out of range with the bow, as long as 2 mature bucks a small 8 and a spike that we have camera pictures of but yet to even see a deer, hoping this week will be better,
