Yes, you can use your feet and hands.

Here's what I posted a few years back, explaining how to do it using my technique.
I'm right-handed and the technique I use is as follows:

I put the loop of the string on the right limb, then with my right foot through the stirrup(and my left foot fairly close to it) I place the right limb on a "carpeted" or unslip surface. I then place the other loop of the string on the left limb, holding it in place with my left thumb. Using my right hand I hold the left limb and lean and bend to my right, using my legs for leverage. Once the limbs are bent, I slide the loop over the left limb tip, using my left thumb and index-finger. Once the loop is in place, I slowly release the pressure and I check to see that string and loops are perfectly snug and centered in both limb tips crevices.

Once the string is on, I also check the "brace height" ( the distance of the string from the riser). The Excaliburs have a "etched" line marked, on the rail, which is 1 inch from the riser. I like to have my string about 1/8 inch behind this line. To achieve this I either twist (shorten) or untwist (lengthen) the string. Since a new string will stretch and reduce the brace height after a few shots, you should start with a 1 1/2" height.

Please note, to increase the brace height (move the string further behind the mark) you twist the string, and do the opposite to move it closer. The brace height should be between 1 to 1 1/2".

Check the brace height occassionally to make sure it's correct.

Hope this helps.

I have adjusted my strings a thousand times or so since my first Excalibur Exocet purchase in 91, all without a stringing aid I might add- never had one.

I place my Excalibur stirup down on the carpet if inside, or on a piece of wood outside. You don't want the limb sinking into the ground.

Tilt crossbow to the right so that the right limb end touches the ground. Place yourleft foot firmly on the inner right limb near the end or tip.

With your left hand palm grasp the upper left limb and apply tension downward to flex the limb inward.

With my right hand I quickly remove the string and twist to adjust my brace height. Still while pushing with my left hand and standing on the right limb I re-attach the string.

Changing strings is the same.

Being 6'4" and athletic makes this easier for me. Some practice might be needed here. I hope that helps.

It appears Comfy and I typed at the same time. We are on the same page.

Go to excalibur.com, there is a video on how to do it. Click on Watch Video Instructions, then go to Crossbow Procedure and Safety.

The aid really makes working on your string easy and you do not have to mess with the dissipators if you take the string all the way off.

That's the beauty of Excaliburs! Always nice to change the brace height on the fly or change strings in the middle of a 3D shoot. Pity those poor guys shooting Scorpyds.
