A Week of Hunting ( not dial up friendly )

Post by Doe Master »

We started the week with alittle scouting on the Sunday . We came across these two scrapes together .
Image
The next morning started with deer to the right of me blowing at me or Dad . This is one of the views out in front of me .
Image
At about 8:30 I caught movement to my left and got ready . This guy came sneaking in .110 grains of triple 7 and 300 grains of SST from the Muzzleloader ruined his day .
Image
The group photo of me ,Old Buck and Close up .
Image
The next morning one of the guys decided to sit in my stand from the previous day . :)
Image
Dragging it out to where you can get other stuff to it is always a chore .
Image
Wednesday I had a very big buck just walk around me . Thursday saw us sitting out in the snow .
Image
Image
This greeted me on the trail into my stand on the friday. I walked around the corner and could just see a deer standing infront of the stand .
Image
Got up in the stand and when the sun came up was amazed by the sheer beauty .
Image
Fast forward to Saturday . Had the pleasure of having TPM come out to join us for the hunt . I ended up shooting another deer , a nice mature doe . I do have a name to uphold . :D
Well she ended up expiring in a not so accessable spot . Had to extract her the old fashion way .
Image
When we got her out to more photo friendly spot we got a photo or two .
Got to love digital cameras . You can take tons of photos without worrying about the film limits .

I don`t think this story is complete without the final act to the hunt.

Lady Di doing the packaging .
Image
My friend brought his daughters over as well . Here is his youngest daughter helping me with the grinding of the meat . :D
Image

I apoligize for the long post . But I wanted to share the whole hunt .
Take a child hunting , the memories will far surpass any trophy .

It was a pleasure joining you guys Saturday morning! No photo story would be complete without a picture of the HMS Orca which I had the honour of paddling. Notice how we do all the work while "Miss Doe" just lays back and enjoys the ride. :o

  Our family portrait studio seems to have the same background every year!!!!( except there is two bodies missing and I don't think you can convince them to slog through the snow, mud, water, brush and water)
It was a very successful week all round but its a good thing we have a week to recover.

NICE GOING GUYS!!!!
