Last day p.a. buck

Post by mrxbower »

Hi,Went out this morning and it was crunchy, about 8:00 it started to lightly rain and the fog started to roll. Hunted a spot i wasnt at all year set up and nothing but squirrls. then at 8:45 i look over my left sholder and a buck magically appeared. he was in the open pretty much and about 30 yds. behind me. every time he went behind a tree i made a move first hand on bow then pick bow up out of holder then stand all good so far then he looks right at me at 20 yds. broadside. i thought it was over but he continues , now hes at 27 yds. quartering away hard i grunt and he stops i aim and shoot i see hair flying and my arrow in him looks good i watch him run 30 yds. and goes down then back up and runs another 10 yds. and hes down. at this time i am shakeing like crazy didnt shake when i seen him or when i shot. i sit in the stand and watch for 10 min. and get down. took a few steps and i see a deer jump up where he was down my heart sank then it comes back walking towards me and its a doe. it made a small circle and went up to the buck and was nudgeing it then it starts to walk towards me about 20 yds. now then goes back to the buck . i take a few steps and she runs in the pines. i go over and theres my buck. i look in the pines and she starts to come towards me again. i just sat and she finally left. 8 pt. 16 in. inside spread. when i dressed him i took out a lung and the heart my arrow went right through it.dead center. i want to thank agingcrossbower for the harness i thought i was going to need it from shakeing. Congrats on the nice 8 point. Sounds like you had a great experience with the doe that did not want to leave the scene.
