deer down

Post by WAB »

I hunted hard last weekend and it payed off. For weeks I could hear the deer walking in the tall grass around my stand, I have seen deer just out of range, but a nice mature doe came in to visit me on the afternoon sit in my ladder stand. Managed a perfect lung shot at 30 yards, with a recovery of about 60 yards. It was the first time I had used mechanical broad heads, and I am now sold, these did an awsome job, thru one rib, and clean thru the other side. Seeing that it was an afternoon/evening hunt, I let her go after shooting her,to let her lie down and headed out to get my help for the drag out. About dinner time we returned and tracked her which was not hard, she left us a great blood trail. Once we got to her, we found that we where not alone in the area....yotes had moved in... they circled us the entire time we cleaned her and we lit them up with our flashlights. Kind of uneasy feeling at times. She is now resting comfortably in our freezer.
I have a picture, but not sure on how to load it in.

Congrats! 8)

I wouldn't put up with those "circling yotes" for one minute ... you need to teach them not to circle humans! :P

See the Sticky "How To Post Pictures" ... it's above the active threads. :D
