Rifled one...

Post by prossbow »

I know, I know, but its nearly 4 weeks in to the season and I haven't been seeing squat. So I took "Shirley" my trusty old .303 British (PH) and sure enough a young "button buck" hopped out in front of me at 80yds and I let loose on it. Flipped it over backwards and it made it 9yds before it expired.

I was starting to think I wasn't going to tag anything this year, but now I still have a tag left for buck or doe, so now I'll try to tag up on that 8 pt that has been frequenting when I'm not :(

added pic - not the greatest - from my bb

and for Grizz.

It was given to me by an ex girlfriend's mother. It was her husbands before he died (about 25 years before that in an accident). It sat in a closet and had a lot of surface rust on it, it cleaned up fairly nice with a little tlc and I've had it for about 10 years. It isn't drilled for a scope, and I don't really want to alter it so I just use the open sights. I just ordered a .270 savage to use as my primary rifle and I'll keep her for show and to pass to my son who is due in January :P
